The Purple Friday Initiative

In the heart of Ballina, Cherry Street Sports has sparked a movement that's igniting conversations and changing lives. Purple Friday emerged from a dark moment when the town was shaken by a tragic domestic violence incident, just as it was recovering from devastating floods. With a vision to foster unity and resilience, Cherry Street Sports joined forces with the Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond, launching an initiative that would paint the town purple every Friday. This powerful symbol of solidarity, supported by a $30,000 investment from Cherry Sports Group, saw local businesses, schools, and organizations donning purple shirts to boldly declare that domestic violence has no place in their community.

Purple Friday has done more than raise awareness; it has sparked vital conversations, offered lifelines to those in need, and showcased the strength of community spirit. As this movement grows, the club industry across Australia stands united in wearing purple shirts every Friday, spreading the vital message that together, we say NO to domestic violence.

Support Purple Friday by purchasing your shirt here, with $3 from every shirt going directly to NAPCAN's LOVE BITES school education programs, which teach Respectful Relationships. Your contribution helps empower young people and fosters a culture of respect and support in our communities.
